Join Chip for one hour of the latest behind-the-scenes Longhorn football news, and ask him all of your questions on controversial Texas topics, UT’s move to the SEC & who will be the starting QB when Texas opens the season Sept. 4 vs. Louisiana in DKR !
Chip is a nationally recognized expert on Texas, the Big 12 & college football.
He broke the story that Tom Herman would be fired and Steve Sarkisian would be hired.
A media guy for 30 years, Chip has worked for the Associated Press and Dallas Morning News, is a Heisman Trophy voter, and appears regularly on ESPN, College Football Live & Outside The Lines.
During the event, Chip will welcome tough, candid questions about how our year ended in 2020 and what’s ahead in less than a month! Attendees will be invited to use the chat section of zoom to ask your questions.
Meet the Speaker:
Chip Brown is an award-winning journalist who has spent nearly 30 years covering college football for The Associated Press, The Dallas Morning News and – since 2017 – for Horns247.com.
Brown is a Heisman Trophy voter who got it right in 2005 and voted for Vince Young.
In the summer of 2010, Brown broke the story nationally about the Pac-10’s attempt to add six schools form the Big 12 and appeared almost daily on ESPN’s SportsCenter, College Football Live and Outside the Lines to discuss his reports. His ability to dominate the story was featured by Sports Illustrated and CNBC.
Brown has broken numerous stories on the Texas beat.
His in-depth reporting on former athletic director Steve Patterson’s morale-crushing performance on the job contributed to Patterson’s dismissal by then-UT president Greg Fenves after just 22 months on the job.
Brown’s most recent massive scoop came on Jan. 2, when he was hours ahead of the competition, including ESPN -who quoted his story – that Steve Sarkisian would be replacing Tom Herman as UT’s new football coach.
